I'm 5ft 7in, 44 bust, 36 waist, 41 hips and I ordered XL. I'm 51 with a baby (small stretch marks on my stomach/chest) and overall I'm not as perky as I was in my 20's and 30's (or like their models always are - I'm sure by the time you're 22, it will look great no matter what lol). I've bought a few vintage dresses from Revain from the 1950's and higher quality dressmakers like Unique Vintage and this dress suits me better than all of them combined! Make the front slightly longer or fully adjust the bust to accommodate the fabric that needs to fill the bust area while maintaining an even waist height. This dress nailed me that my upper chest measurement (underarms and across the chest) is 39 inches and my chest (the fullest part of my chest, under the top of the chest) is 44 inches in circumference. This 5 inch difference is usually omitted when Revain seamstresses create plus size dresses and the result is a patch of fabric between the armhole, shoulder and bust that floats between the armhole, shoulder and bust. close to mine this dress will fit you amazing (it could be a little tighter on me like 1 inch to fit me even better but not enough to make it look ill fitting so if you 1" are 1.5 inches more at the top of the bust, it should still fit snugly). The waist in this dress hits me about 1/2 inch above my belly button, and my belly button is at my true waist. Any retro dress, The one I bought has the waist just below my chest and makes me look fat and like I'm wearing my little sister's dress - EEK!. NOT THAT! :D Also, I have muscular arms and some bicep fat (actually, the fat sits like a bicycle tire around my boobs and arms in the same place.!), and the sleeves of this dress cover that and the bottom cuff of the sleeve is about 2 inches above my elbow, which for me is the best place for my arms to look thinner The fabric is VERY stretchy and lightweight, which has its advantages and disadvantages. Pros: There's plenty and allows for some easy movement, especially in the arms, and if that's usually a problem area for you, you should be fine. . It's breathable and fluid, for me it's almost below knee length, at calf height. . And I really wish the sleeves had some breathing room and weren't so tight, but then again, they don't restrict movement. Also, my neckline is too low, which was not the case with dresses from the 1950s. For a woman my age, such a cleavage would be scandalous. So I will sew a modest fabric. On youtube a great seamstress named Liz from Villas shows you how to do it and it's amazing. She also has a video that explains in detail how to measure for a "full bust fit" if you ever want to make your own dress, or if a seamstress made it for you, or got a good idea, if you order one see through dress. - an individual dress that the manufacturer can adjust to your figure. It was educational, and now I fully understand why standard clothing rarely fits my torso size. The photos are straight out of the box and I really think this dress would benefit from being ironed, especially the collar as it is wrinkled and slightly raised. But it is okay. If ironing doesn't fix it, then a few blind stitches will fix it. All in all I am positively surprised and very satisfied. I hope this helps women with large breasts make a wise purchase. I hate it when people talk about how well or how badly a dress fits and never include their measurements and the size they are buying (not all posts automatically show the size), it's like they're running out of breath , just to express themselves ; God help my sister! By the way, I studied the cut of these dresses very carefully in the pictures and it seemed to me that this dress has a longer bodice than some of the other colors/styles. So I can only explain the light blue and dark blue check with the light blue shawl collar. It's a beautiful color and will look great with black, navy, light blue or gray accessories. Also white because it has beautiful white mother of pearl buttons on the front that really make it stand out. Hooray! in Gowntown for that, I just hope they make more long bodices for us busty girls. Thank you Gauntown!
