Review on HONOR MagicWatch 2 Smartwatch 42mm, Agate Black by Anson Chen ᠌

Revainrating 3 out of 5

A normal product, but they wanted more for the money.

Here are the points of contention: - Design. All reviewers unanimously talk about "excellent design", which I did not see here. When I opened the box, I saw a creepy-looking "plastic" watch (in fact, it is painted steel, of course) and if it were not for my wife, who also said that she likes the look, I would not wear them. There must be something wrong with me; - The supplied silicone strap is soft and tactilely pleasant, but if you have sensitive skin, you will have to change it. If water gets under it, then after a while the skin under the strap starts to itch. It is solved by replacing the strap with genuine leather; - The rest of the heaps of sensors, training modes and other water resistance +/- are on other watches from other manufacturers, so in general, the presence of all this can be assessed as "not bad" or "not at all." In general, the impressions of the purchase are controversial, especially after buying the Galaxy Watch Active 2 for my wife. You start comparing, and you understand that apart from autonomy, there are no indisputable pluses in the watch. Especially the impression is smeared by the purchase of a "white" watch in the official store for 12.5 In the video of one of the reviewers, I found out that in China, with all the discounts, he bought them for 6+ And that's a fair price for this watch. Maybe I just have too high expectations, because. this is the first watch that I bought, but what is. In the future, I will not make such a mistake and I will take the next generation of the galaxy, if by that time no one else can do something comparable in terms of functionality and quality.

Pros
  • - Large bright display with high pixel density (>300 ppi), although given the quality and fullness of the dials, there is no benefit from this; - The presence of a microphone to answer calls and there is even the ability to call from the clock to 10 selected numbers; - Relatively high autonomy, even with all the sensors turned on, it takes me 4-5 days; - The ability to use the watch as a player, although there is not enough memory for music, forget about loseless. So far I have not tested which formats it pulls; - "The presence of always on display", although this is of little use. On the aod display, you can choose only 4 dials, which, in principle, are not the bottom, but they are either in no way detailed / stylistically related to the main displays, or uninformative, or both, in general - hell for a perfectionist. As a result, I turned it off, but its very presence is a plus, of course.
Cons
  • - There is no way to respond to text notifications; - The consequence of high autonomy was the size of the watch - they are large, it is not comfortable to sleep in them; - There are a lot of dials, 3/4 of which, obviously, were pulled out of some kind of cabinet of curiosities, "third-party" ones are basically absent. The rest is compromise. I did not find for myself a single one that would suit in all respects; - The weather is shown ONLY if the geolocation is enabled on the phones, which drains the battery of the smartphone. Are you seriously? Why not add the ability to specify a specific city in the program and pull the weather from there? - A trifle, but unpleasant . Why can't you specify the metric system when setting up a profile, and not all these pounds, feet, inches? I, like, paid for it by buying the PCT; - There is no software or hardware notification indicator; - The arm lift sensor does not always work as it should, the display does not always light up; - Clock lags are common.
