What we like: - Ultra-fast SSD hard drive (boots in less than 30 seconds and loads programs quickly) you-go system data plan or is concerned about security / hackers. (Turn off Wi-Fi when not using the internet) - Volume buttons and mute button right on your keyboard! (Great for when you need to answer a call) - Two brightness and dimmer buttons (if that works for you) - Caps lock is right on top of the caps lock! - Sturdy construction (great for those who are rough with their laptop) - Price Dislikes: - This laptop was made in 2011 so is already 7 years old (in 2018) - Very small 128GB hard drive only has 90GB free Storage Space When You Get It - This laptop weighs about 6 pounds. It's pretty heavy for everyday use - It's been refurbished - The price fluctuates often (use a third party to track price) What's missing: - No modem - No camera or microphone - No fingerprint scanner - No backlit keyboard - None Blu-ray - No touch screen. My package includes: - 8GB DDR3-1333MHz SDRAM - Intel Core i5-2520M 2.50GHz with 3MB 2.5GHz Cache (Dual Core) - 128GB SSD Hard Drive (You will love the speed of this drive!) - Intel HD Graphics 3000 card with a maximum resolution of 1336 x 768 (does not display HD movies with a maximum resolution of 1080p) - 14.0-inch anti-glare LED-backlit screen - Wi-Fi 802.11a/ g/n 2X2 and reception via two antennas on once) - Bluetooth - Touchpad with 2 buttons and joystick (e.g. TrackStick) with 3 buttons - 8X DVD player - 6-cell lithium-ion battery (60 Wh) - 65W power adapter (7ft long) Connections: - HDMI output connector (ideal for adding a second monitor or playing DVDs on a big screen TV) - VGA output connector (for very old analog screens and TV connections) - Headphone jack (most people probably use bluetooth) - RJ45 internet connection (if you prefer (for use connection with Dell Port Replicator Dock PR03X) - 3 USB 2 ports: 1 left and 2 right (no USB 3 ports), but you can use it to add USB ports 3) - SD card slot (supports SD, SDHC and SDXC) - Smart card reader (this is for business/IT use - most people will never use it) Included operating system and software Software: - Windows 10 Professional for refurbished computers - Free Office 365 trial ($99.99/year or $9.99/month if you want to keep it.) - VLC Media Player - Acrobat Reader DC Problems I've had from day one: - The SD port didn't recognize my SD cards. I ended up having to download drivers from Dell. (Big headache) - PSU conversion sometimes makes an annoying ticking - Fn key combined with up and down arrows does not make the screen brighter or darker - Fn key combined with Num Lock (F2 ) does not cause the Partition turns on the num lock on the keyboard
