I LOVE this goal. I have a Great Dane German Shepherd mix that weighs over 100lbs at only 10 months. He enjoys chasing cats and has a hard time potty training so this gate saved our carpets and our cat's nerves. This is great because it allows the cats to get in and out as they please but keeps the dogs in place. The gate's entry and exit mechanism is very easy to use, so I would not recommend using it as a children's gate. It has a locking mechanism, but a small child can easily figure it out. The only downside to this is that there is a pivot block for midweek, but it only works if you have the gate very low to the ground. Since our dogs OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO that and that and that they can't jump over it. The support block is not high enough to help. We solved this problem by making one out of wood ourselves. The screws provided will work if your dog is trained not to push the gate, but if you have a ferocious monster like ours I suggest you use longer screws so it has extra support. If it's drywall I'd also take some screw holders for extra support. Overall I love these goals!
