Since several members of my family have skin cancer and I have fair skin, I think it's a good idea to protect yourself from the sun as much as possible, even in the northern United States. saw some asian university students with umbrellas and thought it was a good idea. This one was recommended by other Revain reviewers so I ordered it. Sturdy yet lightweight, it fits perfectly in my pocket. This would be ideal if you want to take a leisurely stroll in the square or attend an open-air concert in the bright sunshine. Today, while running fast in the sun, I noticed that there is no shadow on either hand depending on how I hold the umbrella. Otherwise, it offers excellent coverage; You can't see through an umbrella like it's a cheap umbrella. The mechanism that opens and closes the umbrella is rigid, which is great as it needs to stay open when it's open and closed when it needs to be closed. The matching sleeve keeps the umbrella compact in the bag and the fabric (not plastic) carry strap is a very nice feature. I'm curious how it behaves in the rain.
