Review on ๐ŸŒ Enhance Collaboration with Plantronics SAVI 8200 Series W8220-M Wireless DECT Headset System: Skype for Business Certified by Corey Owens

Revainrating 4 out of 5

It has taken me a while to become a happy owner of the Savi 8200

After much research I have decided on this product and not the Jabra.3 sections below: (1) Basic information ( 2) Limitations (3 ) Battery life. Main Details: (1) The base has 3 buttons. Highly Recommended: The center button is linked to phones (so you can receive calls from your phone or computer). (2) It works for me with my MacBook Pro and iPhone XR (no connection issues at all). (3) Due to a limitation (next section), you _MUST_ connect your computer to the base station using a standard USB cable (supplied). In my case I use the "dongle" for my MacBook - to connect the USB cable to the USB-C port. (4) I use it at home but I know someone who uses it in their office and it uses the third "connection" by connecting the base to the DESK PHONE in the office. (5) You can go up to 100 feet (even outside the home) and connect based on "DECT" (technology name) between headset and base station. it's just great! (6) Playing around with numerous settings. For my. Even if you raise your voice significantly (with anger :-)) during a conversation, you actually sound like you're speaking monotonously! This is an amazing feature. Limitations: (1) The Bluetooth connection can _ONLY_ connect to one device at a time. That means either your iPhone or your MacBook. It will be very painful to keep switching Bluetooth connections, but yes, you can do it. (2) WARNING: This limitation is due to the currently widespread BLUETOOTH standard. You won't find a product with Bluetooth 8+ that can connect to multiple devices at the same time. Jabra can't do that either (at the moment). (3) Since the laptop is connected to the base with a USB cable, you CANNOT walk around with your laptop. (4) Every few weeks the buttons on the base will fail. At this point I reboot by unplugging, waiting 2 seconds and plugging it back in. Your current call will reconnect in 2-3 seconds! (5) There is no way to know if your audio is muted (via the button on the headset) unless you look at the base station. However, the sound of the mute switch on the headset - once you learn to recognize those sounds - is a good substitute. (6) Listening to music sounds is not very good compared to good music headphones. :(1) See attached picture. You will notice a GREEN indicator on the base (on EACH of the 3 buttons/ports). The total time the GREEN LED can be on. no more than 7 hours (CONTINUOUS or otherwise). If you're getting 10 calls a day (each averaging 30 minutes), you should be fine.(2) But . If you want to hear MS Teams chat message arrival tones on your headset, you MUST stay connected to your computer ALL THE TIME. For some, this can be a big problem. Not for me. FYI - I bought this at B&H (a store near New York) at the price of Revain - Thanksgiving 2020. I can also get tech support because I can easily return things (no questions asked and no restocking fees).
