Despite the low price this serrated bread knife is probably the best I have ever owned. The black plastic handle may not look glamorous, but it provides stability, weight and a good grip. The blade is very sharp; It effortlessly slices soft tomatoes and also handles hearty, chewy farmhouse bread with ease. I've had this knife for six or eight months now and it's still working. I look forward to a long life. If you don't know this, you must wash it (and any good knife) quickly after use and dry it immediately with a clean, soft cloth. Don't wash it in the dishwasher and don't leave it with food stuck to it. If you can't hand wash it immediately, at least rinse it under hot water, towel dry it and leave it in a dry place until you can. Whether soft or hard food, this knife is a real workhorse. It's actually quite amazing considering the extremely high quality you get, especially considering the more than reasonable price. I highly recommend it.
