Because this tool is designed for a large number of blocks, you may need to modify it slightly to make it work for your application. To make it work for me I had to remove the collar on the bottom of the stem. Thus, only a flat head stuck out. Some put washers under the top retaining ring. I didn't, I just let it float freely and lowered the top bushing into the distributor hole so the stem was centered. It worked great and my engine built up great pressure in just a few seconds. I ran it for a few minutes to make sure the oil got into the motor.
