I bought a pair of Xero running shoes. I was skeptical when trying the Vivo shoes barefoot and it was painful and required too many changes in my technique. They were much more convenient and cheaper. I have a million pairs of Vivos now, so maybe my feet are just more used to them and therefore more prepared to go barefoot. However, I will switch to Xero based on sheer convenience and style but mainly price as they are about 30-40% cheaper than Vivos and so far are a far cry from what I think is well made. I also like the wide top. My feet are narrow so I always thought I needed a narrow sock but as I got older I got numbness in my toes. I think the ability to spread your toes helps with that. The only thing I will say is that I increased the size by a full size based on the recommendation, but I probably only had to increase the size by 1/2. However, I'm still happy enough with the overall fit that I haven't gone back.
