As far as wireless adapters go, this one seems to be able to work and stay connected to every network I've tried. It's reliable and range is generally acceptable. I've noticed that placing it at the back versus the front of the tower sometimes made a significant difference in signal strength, so it's possible that it's sensitive to shielding and/or interference from the hull itself and the surrounding area. It received a very weak signal when connected via the 3ft USB extension cable, so make sure you plug it directly into a USB port. Be sure to try several different configurations if the signal seems unusually weak. This poses a major problem with this device. The boxy square shape (style isn't its forte) and the short USB connector at the end make it very awkward, if not impossible, to plug it into many machines' USB ports while leaving room for other devices. Note that on the unit I received (although the picture shows they have since been updated to a better design) the antenna was on the side rather than the back which only made it more difficult to position it between others to fit cables and USB devices. To me this is a cheap design mistake unless they have since updated the design. Just make sure you don't try to stuff it into the last remaining USB port on your computer, as it probably won't fit. It should also not be placed where your foot or other "movement" could move it. It also had an annoying tendency to flip upside down when the ideal configuration was to flip it the other way. In the end I think the price and reliability justify its limitations as long as you can work around them. Please note that I bought ten of these and ended up returning 1. After some time and confusion I thought the problem was with my wireless network or computer. I replaced the adapter with a similar one and it worked 10x faster. Just be aware there may be a few "lemons" in the mix, so don't be shy about returning or exchanging.
