I have a 3 year old and an 18 month old in the same room. Both developed a runny nose and some allergy-like conditions. My son has been taking albuterol for some time to help his breathing and chest wheezing (some of my reviews show inhalers and nebulizers that I have bought or returned to help with breathing problems). We also installed a cool humidifier next to my son's crib to help with his nose issues as recommended by various doctors. The last time my son was in the ER when my son had a runny nose and was wheezing, it was kind of like that. for me, so I decided to try and improve the air quality in her room. We use standard air filters in our home and there is very little buildup on our AC fans/outlets so I don't think it's a serious particulate issue but I said what the heck let me order it. We got this filter about a week ago and to be honest it was an aesthetic purchase from the pictures. I also really liked the idea of child safety. The filter is one piece and fits very snugly and snugly around the edges. The device itself looks very nice, it's slim with a fairly basic function panel on top. The LED glows blue, meaning clean air, but occasionally switches to green. This week my two children are breathing much better, no more runny noses and according to my wife it has worked. within approximately 48 hours. I set it to Auto, and every once in a while you can hear the fans kicking on a little quicker as they get back to normal. At night, night mode is a very low hum that's almost unnoticeable unless you know it's there. An added benefit is that between these two babies any time of the night or early morning after the night when they are sleeping and "depressurize" their bottles before bed, it would be like walking through a wall of farts. We haven't had to deal with that since installing this air purifier so it was worth every penny haha. I will eventually buy another one for the living room.
