UNUSEABLE - CAN'T OPEN CLIP TO GET HAIR IN

Received these today and the clasps just won't open on either end. They are made the same at both ends. There is no "flat end and twisted end" as stated in the description and neither end can be opened. I've tried and tried and tried more than one of them. There is no way to open the clip other than a click on the plastic to open.
