This is my second Aurora. My first (briefly gray in the photo) lasted more than ten years. It can be up to 17 years old. And I got this little cross shredder working! Every week I took out 7-8 bags of shredded paper. I only oiled it for the first few years and then stopped and took it for granted. And yet it has continued to work faithfully for so long that I can no longer remember when I bought it. When she died, of course I wanted another Aurora. This time I got an upgrade. It's quieter (the paper actually "crunches" louder than the motor), has more capacity, lasts longer, is easier to empty and wow - the shredded pieces are so tiny! In the second photo you can compare traditional cross-cutting with micro-cutting. The wheels are a very nice touch, they work well without being too noisy on hardwood floors.
