Buy something else and here's why

What it is: A large case that fits a GPS navigator and some cables. What it isn't: Well constructed not to damage GPS. Why: The padded insert, which is "designed" to be where the GPS module belongs, has a rounded edge, but it should hold the flat object securely. The device (Garmin 1390) cannot be mounted securely without modifying the housing. The GPS should NOT fit in the top mesh screen pocket. If you put it there, it moves erratically and pops out easily when you open the case. The same thing happens if you reverse the process and put the GPS on the bottom and the cables on top. I've seen someone try to attach the case to a suction cup mount, but it does NOT hold the device securely if you clamp everything down. Inside. Jamming also harbors a risk of damage, against which the cover must ultimately protect. Insert and place in the upper part of the case behind the grille. 2) Place the GPS face down in the top of the case (it is now held by the mesh and protected by the insert) 3) Place the cables on the bottom 4) Forget about SECURELY placing the device's mount in the housing . The last thing I want from a protective case is worrying about protecting the GPS. Save time, buy another case. PS I also have a 1490 where I use a small "Case Logic" GPS case and the cables and mount fit snugly in the glove box. The small GPS housing can be easily removed from the car if necessary.
