Review on CDN DTP482 Digital Programmable Thermometer by Melinda Raley

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Excellent and useful product

I did a lot of research before buying a digital probe thermometer. Every brand and model seems to have its own pitfalls. So unless you spend a few hundred dollars on a lab thermometer, you are bound to encounter one or more downsides. unreliable sensors, inaccurate readings, cumbersome menus, insufficient range, flimsy construction, etc. In the end, I asked myself these questions: What are the most desirable qualities and what are the tradeoffs? it was safe. Unfortunately, every single model included reviews from people whose thermometers didn't even last a month, let alone a year. So the next step was to look at the frequency of problems and, perhaps more importantly, the warranty. CDN was the only company with a five-year warranty (based on reviews they seem happy to acknowledge), so that was a big factor in my decision. Next came the temperature range. The peak temperature of most digital thermometers is below 392 degrees. I felt that wasn't enough, so there was another argument for the CDN being one of the few that has a maximum temperature of 482 degrees. etc. Why this cheap but useful little accessory is available as an optional add-on purchase on many other models is a testament to the idiocy and greed of companies that want to get a product at the lowest possible price and then offer you what they should have. provided first. Now that I've been living with CDN Proaccurate for about a month, I have to say I'm satisfied. Compared to the other two thermometers, the CDN seems accurate, and while its response may seem a little slow, it's not designed for instant readings anyway. Other minor complaints? Well, it's not very intuitive when it comes to configuring some features. but after a few uses you get used to it. Probably my biggest disappointment is that the timer only counts hours and minutes, not seconds. This combined with a very small flashing light means it's hard to tell when it's running. Like I said, these are minor complaints. Overall I am very happy with this purchase.
