I can't wait to use it!

I ordered one of these programmable thermometers for my girlfriend and she was so happy with it that she ordered it for herself. This will make my cooking a lot easier. Haven't been able to use it yet. My only complaint so far is that the magnet they sent isn't strong enough to hold the thermometer to my range hood. I'll find a stronger magnet to attach to the hood so it's at eye level. The plastic case feels a little flimsy, but it seems to do everything it claims to do. I plan to check the…

Worked for us (qualified)

Possibly a sign of the times that the meat thermometer is programmed from the factory to read 'rare' beef as 140 degrees (F), while every cookbook I've read says "rare" - 125 degrees. I suspect the manufacturer just wants to err on the "safe" side with the meat temperature, but as a consumer you should take note; ignore the factory settings and enter your own temperature. That "I did last night. Following all other directions on the package (except the temperature) I made the roast beef. The…

Medium sized thermometer with good heat output

This thermometer comes with a good quality thermometer and cable. I use it with my gas grill to grill steaks and chops, usually top to bottom. If the probe is inserted deep enough into the meat, it will fairly accurately capture the internal temperature of the meat when the grill is closed. The probe and cable are hotter than any I know of. The alarm is a good idea, but I lost it - I have a loss at high frequencies and can't hear it. the probe is exposed. After inserting the probe 1/2 inch into

  • Vulgarity

I've wanted a thermometer with a probe for years but never got around to it. In November 2012, I decided I was done with the constant Thanksgiving turkey checks. I was bothered by the opening and closing of the oven losing heat every time. I looked to Revain for what I could afford. I really wanted one with a remote control, but they were too expensive for me. It was a much better price. I wrestled with the decision because we've really had to watch our pennies since the recession. $25 won't…

Excellent and useful product

I did a lot of research before buying a digital probe thermometer. Every brand and model seems to have its own pitfalls. So unless you spend a few hundred dollars on a lab thermometer, you are bound to encounter one or more downsides. unreliable sensors, inaccurate readings, cumbersome menus, insufficient range, flimsy construction, etc. In the end, I asked myself these questions: What are the most desirable qualities and what are the tradeoffs? it was safe. Unfortunately, every single model…
