Make no mistake, half of your purchase price comes from the fact that this item looks cool. It appears to be made almost entirely of chrome-plated plastic. Turning it on also takes some time. First I turned it on and then turned it off again thinking I'd pressed the wrong switch only to realize it was the right one and it hadn't booted yet. The actual lighting strips are all made out of LED strips at $0.99 per foot and have a cheap plastic cover that doesn't want to stay in place. First I attached the ends of the strips with clear tape to keep them from popping out, but now it's peeled off and I think I'll try superglue now. The assembly of this knot also takes a long time. I can't help but feel like more of this could have been done in the box. This is almost a homemade lamp. The only positive thing is that it's really bright. In conclusion I wish it was done better for the price of the thing. Its lighting costs $10 in the "$60" case. just my humble opinion
