Installing the holder in Coco's cage was very easy. I leave the holder in the cage and then set the cup down when I'm making a puree or other homemade treat. It's easy to twist the mug into position and remove it. It is easy to wash both in the dishwasher and by hand. Koko is a gray African woman and hasn't chewed her cup yet. I bought this item because it is smaller than the regular cups in her cage. I wanted smaller cups for their treats/mashed potatoes because the servings are smaller than their servings of granules.
