Many ships have 1 US plug on vanity. They cannot take long strips and are protected from surges. you will take them. The problem is that in your cabin you want to plug in the phones (usually 2) and also get your hair done. To get started, you will also need a hair dryer and maybe a straightening iron or curlers. It's always a challenge. It solves everything. The light weight makes it even better. I would recommend it to anyone taking a cruise. I've been on over 60 cruises (lost count) and most ships only have one plug.
