I wish I had heeded the complaints of people who mentioned the lack of a backlight. If you're sleeping with someone else and don't want to wake them, it's really hard to read without the backlight. I tried using my phone screen so it wouldn't be too bright, but it's a pain to do while trying not to wake the other person (my toddler!). Also, the beep is quite loud. I found myself cupping my hand over the end of the thermometer to try and mute the sound, but it was still really loud, in my opinion. I ended up buying the Easy@Home Digital Basal Thermometer with Blue Backlight LCD Display for a little more and like it better. The backlight is awesome, the beep is softer, and it shows you the last temperature reading whenever you turn it on (never figured out how to recall temperatures on this one). I did compare the two readings by putting both in my mouth at the same time, one on each side, then switching in case some odd reason that they might be different temps. Both times, this thermometer had 0.2 degrees F higher reading than the Easy@Home one. I don't know which is more accurate, but as long as it's consistent, I think it's fine.If you don't need to worry about doing your reading in the dark and in stealth so as not to wake anyone else, then this thermometer is fine. Otherwise, I would highly recommend going with the Easy&Home one instead.
