If you sand and prime the surface well beforehand, stir the paint very well and paint (not roller) 3 thin coats instead of 2 thick coats, you should have absolutely no problems with this paint. Anyone who says they were given "navy blue paint instead of black" clearly has never painted with black paint - black absorbs light and looks different in the can than on the surface being painted. If you do your research and you know what you're doing, this color works great. A quart was more than enough to cover my desk and my closet that I was converting into a dressing table in 3 coats of gorgeous rich black.
