I wanted to love this

I chose this life jacket for my 2 (almost 3) years so we can practice learning to swim. We tried it for the first time this weekend and the first thing that happened when I let go of him as we acclimated him to the water was dunking him face first in the water. We tried adjusting the detachable parts (which is a handy feature) but it didn't help much. I definitely don't think it's very safe and I know he didn't appreciate the face full of water. While it doesn't perform the way we envisioned, it's a very soft material and I loved the adjustable bottom strap on the padded sleeves. around him, as well as safety and ease of donning and doffing. My son has a G-tube and I was concerned how it would work with his tube but there was a fabric tab behind the zipper and gasket preventing him from putting it on. handset while wearing. Maybe we'll try again when it gets bigger and harder. It is now the smallest size for this vest and should have room to grow. Overall not bad, but there's no point in just tossing it face first into the water. He couldn't even keep his head above water by stretching his neck all the way back, he was so strong.

Pros
  • 100% neoprene outer fabric with a closed cell EPE (expandable polyethylene) foam in the middle.
Cons
  • The list will be long.
