The product runs out of water pretty quickly which is normal as it is designed to be portable and easy to use. the water is cool. I waited an hour before he let me unscrew the lid. Also, the steam doesn't seem to be hot enough to kill bacteria. I'd happily spend more money to get a bigger unit that doesn't need to be refilled as often so my cleaning isn't interrupted and wasted waiting for it to cool down. The unit is probably fine if you want to steam a shirt or similar, but if you want to clean a kitchen or similar like a baseboard then look elsewhere. Hope that helps.
