After 8 Months of Use (2-3 times a week) my 12 oz. The press started leaking from the bottom where the glass connects to the plastic frame. I've only used it to froth milk, so it's never seen boiling water. I've also never put it in the dishwasher or microwave, dropped it, or subjected it to impacts that could break it. I recommend buying a French Press with a one-piece, detachable carafe to (I think) avoid this problem phase. This decanter is not removable from the frame, so I cannot examine it further, and I cannot put my hand through it to make sure it is secure. Yes it is available but now I have to buy a replacement as there is no guarantee or return policy. If you make the argument, a stronger press is probably worth the higher cost.
