I don't know, maybe my expectations are too high. All I know is that they fall apart after less than 5 socks. They just don't make their shoes like they used to. It's hit or miss. I'm keeping them, but I may have to go back to buying shoes in person. Oh, I definitely wouldn't buy any of the samples before buying them. I ordered six so I only kept these, they all seem to be defective in some way. Not because of stains or anything, but because of the way they were designed. Most of them were my rite of passage.
