This is a replacement for the exact same pump that came with the YouThink pet waterer. The pump died six months later. I add water every day and never let it dry. Once a week I disassembled and cleaned the fountain. There's no reason to fail other than it's a bad product. If you buy it as a replacement, be sure to keep the plug. It comes with a power cord. NO fork. The only reason I bought a replacement is because I have a 20 year old cat who has become dehydrated due to the lack of a water fountain. Older cats are notoriously bad at drinking enough water and this is the only way I can keep them hydrated. She doesn't drink enough from the bowl. Otherwise I would go to the trouble of replacing this pump.
