Review on Creative Intelligent Splash Proof Bluetooth Technology by Luis Baker

Tiny Bi-Amp Bluetooth Speaker?! I have to try that.

I've been an audiophile for a very long time. I bought my first quality audio system when I was 18 and have owned many since. Then it was science. He talked about signal to noise ratio, dynamic range and total harmonic distortion. We look forward to innovative products. From time to time something slipped out of sight and the entire industry was amazed. I put this little column in that category. Innovation from left field. I never imagined a small two pound bi-amp speaker. Until now, this was reserved for very powerful and very expensive audio systems. That's why I bought this little speaker. Curiosity. And this is from Creative Labs?! Don't they make computer parts? Hmm, worth watching and listening to. I was looking for something with decent sound quality (for a small speaker) to replace my current travel speaker, which sounds good but weighs almost five pounds. Reading other reviews it seems like people expect volume and clarity in the concert hall from the smallest sound system. It just won't happen. It requires mass and great strength. I hadn't expected that at all. I need a speaker that can serve as background music while I work in a hotel room on one of the four continents I travel to regularly (and the review says nothing about this powered speaker). with interchangeable plugs for USA, Europe and UK! But it is, and also the automatic voltage selection). So this little speaker came from Revain. I plug it in to charge the battery and play soft music over it for five hours (you can ruin the speaker by hitting it hard when new. The glue needs to take the drivers back a bit). After hacking, I immediately went to the song I always use to listen to the audio system. True Colors Cyndi Lauper. This song is very well done. I was impressed. Yes, if you push it very far beyond the RMS power level (0.707 peak power) it will distort, especially with a severely limited dynamic range source like Bluetooth. This was to be expected. That's math. I'm an electrical engineer. I do math. I know the limitations designers face. Considering the physical size of this speaker, it does an amazing job. The speaker must move air. The smaller it is, the less air it can move. The designers have created a passive radiation system at each end that visibly moves! I did not expect this. I'm impressed and I'm not easily impressed. To designer from a colleague. and I hope you see it. BRAVO! Overall it is a top product.

Pros
  • Great for a small home
Cons
