I bought this to use on my computer for OBS (Open Broadcaster) with a Sony SDI 1080p camera. The first thing that bothered me was that the tiny package contained absolutely no documentation other than the SD card which was NOT READABLE on my PC. After searching I was able to find a "manual" for the product which is not really a manual. I've never heard anything so crazy in my life, but there is no real user manual for this product, even in digital form. Instead, there's a 700+ page "manual" covering all of the company's products, requiring you to sift through 700+ pages of material that has absolutely nothing to do with your product or what you're trying to do . Even then, the tiny section in Mega's manual about their capture cards didn't mention the DeckLink Duo 2 at all - just a completely different model card that had twice the inputs and had a fundamentally different configuration. weren't too bad, the card has 5 BNC connectors on the back, none of which are labeled. Let me repeat this. The "4-channel input board" has 5 channels on the back that aren't labeled, neither "1-2-3-4-5" nor "1-2-3-4-out" or anything . Auxiliary/Output channel up or down? Who knows? There is no sketch in the manual that suggests this. It's a secret. Serious. What's wrong with these people charging $500 for a graphics card that has absolutely no documentation? As others have complained, right out of the box you have to guess where to connect what. It makes no sense. It is very worrying that such basic information does not exist. After many hours of fiddling around (and note that I didn't have an unusual setup - I put together a brand new, clean computer just for this application with no additional software on it) I was only able to get the device working halfway through. Your included video capture software could see my SDI input, but I couldn't see the same video input in Open Broadcaster. After installation, 8 different video input devices, 4 "Decklink Duo" inputs and 4 "WDW input" devices are available. I've tried each of the eight in multiple combinations; Rebooted, reset everything, in a different order, and OBS couldn't see any SDI signals. Also this product does not work with OBS. Not at all. OBS seems to recognize BlackMagic device drivers, but none of them work and I haven't found any documentation explaining the different device driver names and the difference between the 8 different drivers listed. In addition, the "tune video" settings for these drivers contain very strange settings that deviate from industry standard frame rates, and all settings given are simply using the standard incoming video specifications. It makes no sense. And I've been making videos for 20 years. To make matters worse, BlackMagic's support system is also disappointing. Their online support forum is strictly moderated. Posts will not make it to the forums until they are "approved" by the moderators, which require real names and specific request types, leaving even more time to ask the community for help. If you can get help, which I couldn't. I am extremely disappointed. I don't understand how a company can make products without bothering to have a manual available and obviously you won't hear customer complaints about this on any of the BlackMagic forums because they are carefully censored to keep people away. without knowing.
