Once I'm in the mood again, I restart the controller a third time and try to get things working properly again. The design is terribly unintuitive, and while the setup may seem simple, you'll quickly find that you've screwed it up and need to start over. After three tries and many wasted hours, I found a drop down menu that wasn't mentioned anywhere in the settings that seemed to say the bulbs weren't added to the controller I just set up, registered and signed in to. Oh no, they were all added to my phone's Bluetooth instead. I configured the controller twice and configured the lamps three times and tested them successfully. But after spending several hours troubleshooting Alexa, I tried every menu in search of a solution. I found it: Although my lightbulbs are working again and I can reschedule and I set up a wireless controller to control them, when I named each lightbulb it turned out that it was using Bluetooth instead of Wi-Fi, to connect, which I was struggling to do just accomplished melody. Now I have to delete them all and start over and this time find the option where I use Wi-Fi instead of Bluetooth to connect to them. This should bind them to the controller, not my phone, and the controller should be able to enable the Alexa skill. The only reason I didn't quit my job and get those damn things back is because I don't want to tell my girlfriend. that my cool gadget I'm showing off is too complicated for me. I'm an IT pro, I've been configuring Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connections all day and all I can show is a working theory. The odds of my mom setting this thing up are close to zero. Even without a working Alexa, I found them completely useless. I've tried using a schedule but I don't want all my lights on at the same time every day and I can't use the light switch anymore, I have to use my phone to keep them under control. For example, I turned off the light when I went to bed so the light wouldn't come on as a morning alarm as planned. I have to use my phone to turn something on or dim it. If I can get Alexa to recognize my lights, I can tell her to turn them off, but until then, that's a royal pain.
