Don't buy this. If something goes wrong, you're on your own.

Do not buy. Bad support. I updated my phone last June. Sprint gave me $100 for my new phone and this $20/month device for my home phone. It was a better price than what I got from Comcast, so I took the deal. It was easy to set up and after a few days I was able to use my old phone number. This device uses cellular service and has worked flawlessly for the first few months. The sound quality wasn't as good as the old Comcast device - sometimes it was difficult to hear the other party clearly due to digital distortions. The caller ID gave the number of the caller but not the name. From mid-October I noticed that the person I was talking to on the other end of the line could no longer hear me. Soon it happened all the time. I took the device to a Sprint store where I received it. You performed a firmware update that did not fix the problem. There the man connected the device and tried to call a colleague, who also did not hear him. Then he told me that the deadline for the exchange had expired. He gave me the phone number of a Chinese manufacturer. I called and described the problem. The person there gave some idiotic advice like plugging it into an outlet instead of an extension cord, they also suggested using only the left input and not the right one or both. She then suggested that I had somehow abused the device and it was my fault. (I haven't touched it since the initial setup) Then I called Sprint Tech Support. It was some man from Oklahoma or Kansas. We've tried several things including resetting the device to no avail. Then he said that a higher level technician would call me in a few days. A few days later a man from Texas called. He thought it might be a Sprint system, although I had no problem using my cell phone in the same room. He said to give it a few days to try something. A few days later he said what he was trying didn't work. He also said that Sprint is upgrading towers in my area and that I should wait a few days and call back. I called back and the useless woman said she couldn't help me and would close the ticket. I demanded to speak to the authorities. I was then told to wait a few days as the system update was not complete. I called back a few days later and was told it wasn't a system or software issue and was given an importer number with Hauppauge NY and the ticket was closed. I called them and they told me to send the unit in for repair or replacement with a description of the problem. I sent it 10 days ago and got it back today. The box contained a computer printout showing that a diagnostic program had been run. Another document suggests that something may have been done to the SIM circuitry. I hooked it up and you know what? The person on the other end of the phone STILL cannot hear me, although I can hear them. It's been almost 2 months and all I get is walking around. I've been a regular Sprint customer for over a decade, but nobody there can help.
