This rug is exactly what it promises. You can see my 50 lb dog fits nicely in the space so don't believe the haters. It's not a thick pillow, but it's not what I wanted. I wanted to use a porch rug for when we're all outside, something that can be quickly and easily tucked away into a small space (we have a 500 sq ft cabin) and my dog loves it. Colder than the porch floor? Maybe, maybe not. All I know is that when we go outside, my dog goes straight for it. Disclaimer: My dog is very well looked after but not spoiled. He counts on consolation, but not on softening. This rug is perfect for him.
