After playing Magic for many years, this was my first Pokemon purchase. With no experience at all, I found decks to be a good way to start the game and certainly worthy value considering how expensive boosters are. Small children will probably be very happy about this. However, as an advanced player, my son and I found that the Keldeo deck had a certain level of difficulty that most kids wouldn't understand. We realized that the Keldeo deck (all water) could be slightly adjusted to overwhelm the slower Rayquaza deck and win maybe 90-95% of the time. The only way for blue to really lose is if he draws really badly in the beginning. Otherwise, you could end up with a completely unfair card advantage (drawing 5 cards per turn with one card and Blastoise, allowing you to cheat as much Energy as possible per turn onto your best Pokemon). Once you're set up, which is pretty easy since all the trainer cards will help you draw cards or search the deck, it's just a chore. Once I've done a little research I'm sure I can add to the electric deck to make it faster and more competitive. These are just starter decks and definitely helped me understand how the game works and the possibilities to build stronger decks. Good start.
