If I had 5 fully working drives it would be perfect for what I needed. Everything I could read in the insert said they were new. No mention of refurbishment or refurbishment, OEM drives only. In 4 hours out of 5, 3 hard drives that came on the server in a RAID configuration failed. The first hard drive failed, I sent it in the same morning and received a replacement 2 days later. But after I returned home and continued to work, 2 more hard drives failed. At that point I needed a server ready to go and had to buy the drives locally. I sent the rest of the records back. And the UPS system lost its drives. I ended up losing $75 of my $150 purchase. If you need to return items and they are of a certain value or more, insure them. I received a refund for another returned disc. So it's not the manufacturer's fault for the lost disks, but whoever was very surprised and upset that 3 out of 5 disks failed. I hope that others who bought the same product have better luck.
