Review on Pixio PXC327 Display: Professional-grade FreeSync 2560X1440P, 165Hz, Tilt Adjustment, Wall Mountable, Blue Light Filter, Curved Screen - Unbiased Review and Buying Guide by Richard Clark

Definitely punches above its weight

At first I read good reviews about this monitor and the specs and specs are convincing, but I was still very skeptical given the excellent price of this monitor. And I compared it to a ThinkPad X1 Extreme 4K panel, which isn't a fair comparison anyway given the image quality and not the curve score. But I really didn't find it that disappointing in comparison. Of course, it's a bit grayer with some washed-out blacks unless you turn up the contrast settings (which isn't ideal in many other situations). This panel is far from HDR, but after comparing it to a range of monitor performance tests I was even more impressed. The white balance was satisfactorily well calibrated. This panel seems to handle ghosting fairly well, and there don't seem to be any pixel overload artifacts. Colors and blacks don't work well with my ThinkPad 4K display, of course, but when gaming, the contrast this monitor delivers is adequate. In fact, I would have a hard time paying more for any other display until you maybe get into the $400 range where you can find significantly faster/brighter displays. The monitor stand is decent; it's bulky but stable enough without wobbling too much. The monitor's hardware controls and menus are fairly intuitive and easy to navigate. It's also curved, but not as aggressively.

Pros
  • monitors
Cons
