Review on Discontinued Canon EOS 7D Digital SLR πŸ“· Camera Body Only with 18 MP CMOS Sensor by Abhey Bar ᠌

Revainrating 4 out of 5

The product is good, there are only a few minor flaws.

To shoot 8 frames per second at 18 MP, you need very high-speed flash drives. I shoot reports at 10MP - then 2 batteries are enough for the whole day and the buffer does not suffocate. If you look at the trend in the XX-series, we have a clear regression and glamorization (50D has worse noise than 40D, 60D has a plastic case and SD flash drives). Therefore, if you need a camera that is not the most expensive for work, then either switch to another brand, or take a 7D. It would be nice to insert "raw conversion in the device" into the next software firmware. Dear Canon, - you give cheap 8D (what a cool logo-smile I came up with for you) with a 10MPix matrix and better ISO-noise! It is possible without video, but if marketing forces, then video with autofocus.

Pros
  • Good resolution with good optics. The camera is slick. Management is convenient. In terms of noise, it is very pleasing compared to the 50D. Large dynamic range - you can pull out a lot of information from overexposure in raw files. Dust and moisture protection (not yet useful). The picture on the screen with mega-clearness - the pixel is not visible.
Cons
  • Poor focus in the dark. Compared to the 40D, it's just awful. I don't know, maybe it's a problem with the concise carcass. Too heavy. In AutoISO, the upper limit is not adjusted.
