I bought these shorts for my daughter who is about 5ft tall and 100lbs. XS fits perfectly. Waist has a good amount of stretch to it. The denim is fairly good quality. I have washed and dried them multiple times. The have held up great. For reference, I am 5ft 2” and about 118lbs. I tried them on for the fun of it, but they were too small. Figured that was worth mentioning if you are trying to decide between and XS and a S.
