In my work we use a lot of switches, all micro or mini or whatever you call them, they solder great, get decent iron or not, they connect quickly (within 2 seconds) once you go through go up the hole, then tin the wire, thread a through hole, pour flux or put some solder on the tip of the iron to transfer heat and lo and behold, nothing melted, no problem, all is good.
