Whether you just need to cast one piece or just want to try sculpting and casting a piece in resin, this kit is for you. All the necessary materials are there, the instructions are good, it is quite easy to use. I used the kit to shape a small piece I wanted for the model I was building and it worked fine. My only issue with this set is that it is designed and intended to be used by all products at the same time. The instructions say to mix the entire bottle of catalyst with the entire container of the base to make mold silicone. For my application, this would result in significantly more silicone than I need. And I would run out of silicone for future use and would have to buy more if I wanted to do another sculpting project. Looking over the instructions, I found that large kits require a 10 to 1 weight ratio of base to catalyst. Since I don't have a scale that accurately weighs these products, I calculated this ratio based on volume for making silicone. Maybe I was just lucky because everything worked out. And I still have enough base and catalyst to make more small molds in the future. But keep in mind that if you're thinking of buying this kit to make multiple molds and castings over time, it's not designed for that. Essentially, this is a one shot and done kit.
