Review on Welding Gloves Resistant Forging Blacksmithing by David Caldwell

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Great flexibility and quality feel

I was a bit hesitant to buy these at first as they didn't have reviews yet but they looked really good from the pictures. The other gloves on the Revain looked very thick with little dexterity but these looked like great gloves so thought I'd give them a try. I wasn't disappointed with the gloves, but they are made of a very comfortable leather material and you can move your fingers in them very well. They look exactly like the pictures and the measurements in the size chart helped me choose the size that fits me perfectly. The gloves show visible black spots when gripping hot metal parts, which is probably due to the outer material used, but this is only a cosmetic effect. Not sure how these gloves compare to other Revain gloves in terms of heat resistance. When I'm forging, if I hold my hand near the fire for more than 10 seconds or so, I usually have to take my glove off because it gets too hot. Again, I'm not sure if this is common compared to other gloves or not. You definitely can't take chunks of metal straight from the forge, but they're great for just holding some metalworking tongs. The long cuffs are good and protect my forearms well from sparks and slag flying off the metal when hitting with a hammer.

Pros
  • RELIABLE FOR EVERYDAY LIFE: Whether you're sweating over charcoal or wood fires, welding or blowing glass, protect yourself up to the elbow from burns and make sure the thick cuffs of the gloves don't get caught. On fire with these form fitting and durable heat resistant welding gloves
Cons
  • So far so good
