For some reason my rear brake discs broke on my old hardtail. With my new bike build, I refused to let this become a problem. It's too wide to use on the trail, my god of flies, it's muscular. Yes, it's a little heavier than your stock rim and will probably be better for a downhill bike, but. That. is. STRONG. Don't worry about the flexing of this thing.
