Review on (Old Model) Seagate 500GB Desktop HDD Sata 6Gb/s 16MB Cache 3.5-Inch Internal Bare Drive (ST500DM002) - Reliable Data Storage Solution by Shawn Torres

This is my second order of this product and I only order when needed. I can't talk about all the features of this drive or compare the performance. I'm not a hard drive expert. However, I use my computer more than 8 hours a day, this is my business and I need reliable hard drives in my machines. I had 4 Seagate drives in total and this is my second 3TB Seagate ST3000DM001 drive. All 4 drives failed. I won't talk about the durability of other drives, but this one failed for 3 years. I bought it to replace a failed drive in my iMac and initially it was a fantastic drive, fast and quiet. So I'm buying a second drive, I need to replace it with an identical drive to make it work. So I hope for the best result. I mean I will upgrade but I won't be running this machine in 1/2/3 years so probably not. However, to me, a drive that has failed in less than 3 years is not a viable replacement. 2 stars. In comparison (probably unfair since I'm not comparing hard specs) my 5+ year old WD drives are still spinning!
