Review on ๐Ÿšฒ Enhance Your Cycling Experience with Race Face Aeffect Bike Pedal by Ron Kishore

Very good pedals, suitable for parts and components

I've only used them on a dozen trips so far. They're a little scratched from a few pedal strokes, but that's only a minor cosmetic issue so far. I got these pedals because I'm still a relatively inexperienced mountain biker and I'm tired of worrying about stepping out of the clipless pedal. Pedals I have used. The first thing these new "flat" pedals taught me was that grippy shoes and pedal pins (or snaps, for that matter) are no substitute for proper pedaling technique. It took me a few rides to figure out how to avoid pedal offset (when you lift your foot faster than the pedal goes up, and when you put your foot back, rotate the pedal 180 degrees with your heel instead). There are cheaper pedals out there and I'm sure they would have worked just as well for me, but I got them because of the positive feedback from professional reviewers and also because they are wider than my feet and have a thin profile. I've had some cheap plastic/composite pedals (with plastic pins) but my shoes kept slipping off. I rode in the rain recently and was happy to find that I have no problem keeping my feet on these pedals. I didn't have any problems with dirt either, as it couldn't get stuck anywhere.

Cons
  • There are other interesting options.
