I'm not exactly a music lover but I can definitely tell good sound from bad sound. Lately I've been feeling like my surround sound system isn't delivering the quality I think is right. My current setup is a Pioneer 5.1 surround sound system (VSX 830 K), 2 M10 front speakers and 2 cheap RCA surround speakers that came with my old surround sound system. I had before. When I first started using my new system and speakers, I plugged in the speaker wire that came with a cheap $50 surround sound system. The cables were so small that there were about 4 copper strands per cable. It was tedious, but it worked. Up until yesterday I was using this setup and it worked fine. But I always felt there wasn't enough bass and treble for such good speakers and a surround sound system. I ended up buying a center channel speaker and decided to add it to my shopping cart and upgrade the two front speaker wires. When I first received the speaker cable, I immediately noticed the difference in thickness between this cable and my old stuff. After unwinding the cable I was worried I wouldn't have enough cable, my surround system is quite small so I didn't think I would have any problems but after setting everything up I was shocked when I saw that I only had about 3 extra inches. ! I recommend buying 2 or more of these for medium to large installations. After connecting the cables (it's very easy by the way, be careful not to cut yourself) I plugged them in and it worked right away. The sound was much better compared to (I would say) 30 gauge or larger wire. The bass was there and the highs were gone! I finally have a sound that my surround sound system can reproduce and not one that my speaker wire can handle. Overall, this is great value for money for this speaker. Just be sure to buy more than one if you have a larger setup. The wire is thick, looks good, unwinds straight and doesn't twist like other speaker wire.
