I bought a Whisper 100 for my 55 gallon tank, it was only a few bucks less than this, it was from the start to start damn loud, (had to put in a separate room it was so loud). It worked well but seems to have faded after a year or so. This new one is MUCH EXCELLENT for almost the same price, delivers a lot more air volume on a low setting (3 settings) and is so quiet I had to focus on it to make sure it was working. If I'm not careful I'll run under gravel filters and a birth tank because of the ridiculous amount of air bubbles in my tank, all on low settings too. The pump is just as quiet on high settings, but that's too much airflow! (for me) The low setting seems almost double the whisper of 100 in my opinion. at low setting. Maybe I had a bad whisper? I don't know, never mind.
