I travel to our Chicago office at least once a month. I was tired of going back to cartridge razors so I took a chance and got this Merkur. My DE daily razor is a Merkur 34C so it feels very familiar and has the same shave profile; I found it was the same level of blade opening and aggressiveness. I shave my head and face every day and I shave great with Gillette Silver Blue and Astra Superior Platinum razor blades. With a word or a warning, the TSA confiscates all non-cartridge blades, but I had no trouble getting past security with this travel razor alone. As I travel to the same city I was able to stock up on some DE Blades on my office desk. Chapter. The feeling is lighter once you're used to the Merkur 34C, so it takes a bit of effort to get a good shave. If you prepare properly for a wet shave, this razor will do. If you're in a hurry, I'd stick with cartridge blades.
