Fantastic safety razor for beginners - perfect for women too!

I've spent HOURS researching to find the right safety razor. It was easy to support Merkur with their incredible track record and wide range of razors. Please note that NOT ALL SAFETY RAZORS ARE CREATED EQUAL. Don't fall for those $10 eco-friendly razors that don't detail the handle, blade protrusion, handle length, and parts. I've learned to stay away from butterfly razors, which seem to open more easily but tend to accidentally pop open while shaving. Yes, women can definitely use it! I've…

Bon Voyage Mercury for Men

Mercury razors seem to have disappeared from Revain in the last month and this Mercury Voyage is one of the few that remain. I really liked my 34c and decided to take a chance. Ironically, for some reason when I bought it last week it cost about fifteen dollars instead of the usual $45, so that was the icing on the cake. I really like this shaver. The head is the same as the 34c and gives the same close shave as I expected. It breaks easily and the storage box is neat. I really want to take it…

Great travel razor!

A few months ago I started shaving the old fashioned way with the Microtouch One butterfly safety razor. While it worked well, I had a feeling it could do better, so I switched to the Merkur 34C (which, by the way, is less than an inch longer than this razor, so if you're worried about the handle being too short, don ' Don't worry about that thing. And if you don't, go shopping! Maggard and a few other companies make pens that go with this thing) and I ended up deciding that I should get some…

Like it but don't like it

I like this idea and it was very helpful on the trip. I bought it along with the Col Travel Kit. Conk and the shave was good. Portability is very good and when packed it is very small, about the size of a matchbox. Only criticism is that when the razor is disassembled the blade either has to be detached and packed elsewhere, making travel difficult, or left on the razor and rubs against the handle and fairly quickly dulls the blade. When assembled, the razor is a bit small, but not too small to

Small, handy, good shave

The standard two blade razor is not a huge and heavy thing and I have a travel case for mine but this travel razor now replaces it for all domestic trips. It disassembles and is stored in a tiny soft plastic case that takes up almost no space and weighs very little. Assembling and using is easy and fun. The most important thing is that although it is light in the hand, it is well shaved (otherwise it would be pointless to take it everywhere). It's good enough to use as a home razor replacement…

Great DE Travel Razor

I travel to our Chicago office at least once a month. I was tired of going back to cartridge razors so I took a chance and got this Merkur. My DE daily razor is a Merkur 34C so it feels very familiar and has the same shave profile; I found it was the same level of blade opening and aggressiveness. I shave my head and face every day and I shave great with Gillette Silver Blue and Astra Superior Platinum razor blades. With a word or a warning, the TSA confiscates all non-cartridge blades, but I…

Very nice and comfortable travel razor

The razor shaves very well, especially as it is so light. It's really small and perfect for travel, especially for flying. Just a smooth and comfortable razor. At home you can use a heavier pen if you have one. Do not overtighten as this is Zamak (Pot Metal as it is called which is an alloy). Zamak is notorious for cracking.
