Review on πŸ“ž GE Corded Slimline Telephone Model 29253GE1 by Ruby Moya

Revainrating 3 out of 5

The telephone must not be more than a few meters from the telephone socket

This telephone has its advantages and disadvantages. On the plus side, the sound is very clear. The volume is adjustable, with low, medium, and high settings. In addition, the ringer volume can be adjusted with the settings "Off", "Low" and "Medium". (The specs say the last setting is high, but I'd say it's average.) However, the phone cord runs straight from the phone jack to the handset, and that creates a problem. Most phones have a cord from the jack to the base and another coiled cord from the base to the receiver. This gives you the option of using a long coiled cable to carry the receiver across the room. This phone uses only one cable twisted together to the last leg. It's 7 feet at full extension and there's no option to substitute a longer cord. So when you're on a call, you can't go more than 7 feet from the phone jack. I'm disappointed in GE that they don't state this clearly on the packaging and in the product description.
