Review on πŸ”ͺ High Mohs Hardness Double Head Tungsten Carbide Tip Scriber - 4 Pack Engraving Pen Comparable to Diamond for Glass Metal Wood Ceramics Stone, Ideal for precise detailing (2.8) by Anthony Colton

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Studying the product before viewing it will resolve MOST complaints BUT it also answers other people's questions!

Most <5 star reviews complained that the product does not protect the user from knife/carbide impacts if dropped because the rubber tip is not enough. After reading PAGES of reviews saying "other than that, it's great!" Price and next day delivery won out and I figured why not? After opening the packaging and playing around with the product for about 15 seconds, I got the answer to my ONLY question AND the solution to MOST of the negative reviews I've encountered. (The only other negative comment I saw was asking if the tips were actually made of tungsten carbide - as an accountant, I don't have the experience to make that determination.) Considering the manufacturer was smart enough, to infer an ending, it's quite likely that you have some basic understanding of Darwin's theory of natural selection. The product comes with one rubber tip covering the tungsten carbide tip and the other with an aluminum cap. (See first image.) HOW TO SOLVE THE USER/TIP PROTECTION PROBLEM: 1. Recognize each connection point of the etching pen, except that the rubber tip UNLOCKS from the next connection point - just like an aluminum cap unscrewing from the end of the pen for pickling. (See second picture.) 2. Unscrew the connection point between the end of the rubber cap and the grip body. (See third image.) 3. Twist the rubber tip section and SCREW it back into the grip body. (See fourth picture.) 4. Both the carbide tips and the user are now protected from this product. (See last picture.)** The buyer/user left this review to answer the ONLY question they had about the product for other people with the same question: Is there a solution to the rubber tip protection issue? The answer is positive. Remember that the product's usefulness, sharpness and properties have been well documented in previous reviews and need not be repeated. I personally bought this product to mark and identify keys for multiple deadbolts that all use the same key blank which makes them indistinguishable from one another. The product solves my problem and hopefully the review will solve everyone else's.
