Garmin Stupid Scale

Initial setup went well. The scale is linked to the Garmin app. That's why I bought a Garmin smart scale so all my readings are automatically uploaded to the app. I use my phone's hotspot (Wi-Fi) to connect. Since initial setup. I had to reset/connect it every time. The ONLY time it connects properly is when my phone is connected to another wifi and sharing it over a hotspot. That means I just paid 3x what a normal digital scale would STILL input by itself. This data is my weight, since there is no way to manually enter other indicators. I also tried resetting the scale to factory settings. But it's silly that you even have to force a connection after the initial setup. The process is to download the application. connection attempt. Connection could not be established. Press the reset button on the back of the scale. Delete the application completely from the phone (otherwise it will hang when trying to connect), restart the application and try to connect again. Etc etc. Once Wi-Fi is scaled, you don't have to do this process EVERY TIME. I'm just saying. Kinda STUPID. (I also have a Garmin Stupid Watch - no connection issues - just poor data collection)

Pros
  • Few competitors
Cons
  • poorly thought out
