I'm working with Rj45 connectors for the first time; There was no internet connection on the first try. I realized the problem was that 2 of the 8 cables were only halfway into the slots. I pulled them all out and this time I took them off instead of leaving the plastic cover/hinge attached. I would run the cable over the slot (not inside) until it exits the slot on the other side. Then I pushed the plastic tabs where they should go (most of the time they should be where the cable exits), locked the loops, and pressed the plastic to slide the cable in and lock it in place. Then remove the plastic cover again (snap it on) and repeat the process for the next cable. Just make sure the cable comes out the other way each time before you press. My speeds are back to 1000Mbps (before they were capped at 100Mbps with the old Cat5e Keystone)
